Note that Metro Manila is still under GCQ which means people below 21 and above 60 years old, and those with pre-existing conditions are required to stay home.

Parañaque City
Status: CLOSED
Considered as a world-class 4-km loop in the Metro, the Okada loop has been the favorite training ground of seasoned and competitive cyclists in Manila. However, it’s temporarily closed due to its proximity to a newly opened quarantine facility. Cyclists can only go up to Solaire.
San Mateo, Rizal
Status: OPEN
For bikers who want to test their endurance on challenging ascends like a real Spartan, Timberland Heights offers a 2-km long paved road known as “The Wall” that will surely test your physical and mental limits.
Known for its killer uphill, Shotgun is considered one of Manila’s most hellish road climbs. It is said to measure up with the steepest part of Kennon Road. However, it’s closed for recreational and leisure activities due to safety concerns as per Municipal Ordinance No. 033-S-2020.
Antipolo, Rizal
Status: OPEN
This short but sweet cycling destination is perfect for those looking for a challenging uphill near the city. It is currently open but be sure to practice social distancing and always keep your facemask on in the vicinity.
San Mateo, Rizal
Status: OPEN

Aside from the famous Ten Commandments tablet scripture, going to Mt. Sinai is popular for its steep and challenging trails. But at the end of the course, it offers a view of the majestic Sierra Madre mountain ranges.
Marikina-Infanta Highway, Antipolo, Rizal
Status: OPEN
Known for its steep but gradual incline, the uphill to Boso-Boso is slightly easier than the uphill from Masinag to Antipolo via Sumulong highway. A great training area for bikers of all levels.
Sta. Rosa, Laguna
Status: OPEN
Perfect for beginners, Nuvali’s trails are mainly flat which makes it a safe starting trail for beginners and a relaxing ride for competitive and seasoned bikers.

About 60-km away from the famous Kilometer Zero in Luneta Park, Tagaytay is one of the most popular biking destinations near the Metro. Aside from the stunning view of the Taal Volcano, there’s no better way to reward yourself after surviving the ascents than its ever-famous Bulalo.
Rodriguez, Rizal
Status: PARTIALLY OPEN
One of the most go-to mountain biking places near the Metro, Wawa dam offers a jackhammer terrain enough to give you a healthy dose of adrenaline.
Open for cycling enthusiasts but only up until the bridge. The cave and the dam itself are still closed for tourists.
Norzagaray, Bulacan
Status: OPEN for cyclists ONLY ON WEEKDAYS
For those who want to experience great trails with even greater scenery, Bitbit river offers a picturesque view of the mountains giving you a quick escape from the urban jungle.

Another scenic destination, Bakas is known for its large limestone rocks and boulders which is exactly the kind of terrain mountain bikers lust for.
Pililla, Rizal
Status: CLOSED
Offering a scenic view from the hills of Tanay Rizal to the vast waters of Laguna Lake, the Wind Farm in Pililla is just around 70-km outside Manila.
However, it is temporarily closed due to bad cyclist behavior. A reminder that as much as we are having fun, let’s observe cultural sensitivity and respect the tourist spots we are visiting.
San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan
Status: OPEN
If you’re up for a trail and food adventure, Licao-licao is just a 2-hr pedal away from the city. With its rolling and challenging route, it’s becoming one of the go-to places for a weekend ride. Just be sure to come in small groups and practice social distancing at all times.
Just a few kilometers away from Licao-licao, is a hidden gem in the mountains of Rodriguez, Rizal, the route going to the Blue Lagoon offers a challenging trail that will reward you with a scenic and luscious green forest view.
Known for being the longest underground passage in the country, Kaybiang Tunnel has been one of the most famous cycling destinations in the South.
From Manila, completing the Kaybiang Tunnel loop via Manila-Bacoor-Dasmariñas-Silang-Tagaytay-Nasugbu-Maragondon-Ternate-Naic-Bacoor-Las Piñas-Manila is a 200km ride with more than 2,000+ elevation gain.
With historical architectures confined within its walls, “The Walled City” is a great place for leisure cycling, especially after its recent rehabilitation. Biking in the area will get you to admire the place not just for its beauty but also for its story.
Quezon City
Status: OPEN
One of the best and most accessible places to do rounds in the city, UP Diliman’s University Avenue is open for cyclists. The Academic Oval, on the other hand, is still closed to the public.
